Here
comes the time again for us to celebrate someone’s birthday. For today, it is
time to celebrate Faiz’s birthday. Since we do not have any lessons today due
to China’s public holiday, all of us were lazing around at our dorms while
planning a surprise for Faiz. The plan was; the girls would act as per normal,
going to the halal restaurant to have lunch while some of the guys would eat
with Faiz at the same restaurant as the girls and some would eat elsewhere. The
main meeting place was the halal restaurant where we would celebrates his
birthday, thus everyone would gather there when it is time.
When
everyone had gathered, Faiz’s birthday came and all of us began singing his
birthday song. From his expression, I can see that he seems shock as he did not
expected us to celebrate his birthday then. While we were singing the birthday
song in many languages one after another, the owner of the shop, workers, the
cookers and their children came to gather around us and celebrated together. It
was such a joyous moment because it felt like all of us really bonded and knew
each other for a long time. As usual, we caked the birthday boy and the
birthday boy went around trying to get revenge on us.
When
the celebration was over, Huiting, Rose, Shinyi and I went back to our dorms
first to do our research on our presentation which would be on the 2nd
or 3rd of October. After a moment of joy, it is time for me to work
hard and focus on my assignments. It was really very boring and tiring but most
of the day I am left with is spent on researching for my presentation slides
and planning. I just hope that all of my sacrifices and hard work would really pay
off in the end.
