Now
that another assignment deadline is done, it is time to go shopping and have
fun! Only a few of the girls, Shinyi, Huiting and I went with a large number of
guys to the Chengdu’s city to do some shopping at the warehouse sale near Chun
Xi road. We began to meet up at around 10am and went to the West Gate to take
the shuttle bus to the old UESTC campus since we were going to town. Upon reaching,
we split into two groups, half of us went to explore Chun Xi road while the
rest went to shop around MidTown. While walking around Chun Xi, we were very
hungry and decided to have our lunch first before shopping. For lunch, we
decided to eat Pizza Hut. Faiz and I ordered a big pan pizza that has seafood
flavor and the taste was really delicious, since all this while I have been
eating noodles and rice from the same Halal restaurant over and over again. However
neither the pizza nor the food here in Chengdu, China could beat the food taste
in Singapore, ever!
After
a satisfying lunch in town, we began our shopping journey to a nearest
warehouse sale. I was down most of the time as I was running out of cash really
fast and the items that I wanted costs about RM300. Slowly I began to feel
frustrated and was not having a great time during the whole shopping trip. Then
while shopping, we accidentally met up with Ms Ray, Mrs Teh, Peishuan, Rose and
Lee Minh and eventually we went to our own separate destination. I don’t
usually get attracted to things easily since I am a very picky person but then I
saw a bag that I really like. It felt like love at first sight. It was baby
blue in color and it was like the type of bag that I wanted. When I got to know
the price, I found out that it costs about RM320 and my heart shattered into
pieces since I’m left with less than RM200 and everyone else were getting
broke. I was emotionless, sad and grumpy like I am like a spoilt brat that didn’t
get anything I wanted. But then everyone was trying to cheer me up and moments
later I began to get over it. To me, today was such an emotion rollercoaster
ride for me. Well, that is what you get when a lack of cash girl went to do
some window shopping. Then half of us went back to the campus first by tuk-tuk
since we wanted to finish up our journal which is due by tonight before 12am.
But before we went back to the dorm, we went to have our super late dinner as
we were just too famish and after we had out fill, we went to the dorm with the
laptop in front of us and the sounds of the tapping keyboards from time to
time.
