Day TwentyOne. Week Four.
Monday
Since both Huiting and I had nothing to do tonight, the both of us decided to do a mini excavation. From yesterday’s trip to the Jinsha Site Museum, Huiting bought an excavation set which basically is a white block which is pretty much brittle and a mask is hidden inside of it. So our job was to excavate it slowly with the tools provided for us. It was a really entertaining experience because since from young, I had always wanted to do this kind of excavation activities but it would only have to stay as a dream and wishful thinking of mine. It was a long and tiring repetitious task but at the end when we finally got to unravel the mask from the block of the hardened white sands, satisfaction and happiness began to kick in.

Also, I have realized that the campus has a certain ‘alarm’ being set every single day. One was in the morning at 7am, then during lunch time at around 12pm and lastly in the evening at around 4 or 5pm. They would usually play a song for quite a while or broadcasts a local ‘radio’ slots that would sometimes play English songs in the afternoons and evenings. Personally, I feel like this university is like a military campus since there are so much ‘alarms’ being set in the campus for the students here. Unlike back in Singapore at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, there is hardly any school bell or alarm and the only place where we could listen to the local radio broadcast is at the Atrium from 1pm until 5 or 6pm without fail. But however one thing that I found in common between the two is that there are not much people who are interested to hear such radio broadcasts. In all I think that the morning ‘alarm’ is really beneficial because I would always use it as a guide to what time it is and my wakeup call to get ready for morning classes at 9am every time.
