Saturday
Yesterday
night we didn’t slept late since today’s trip to Huang Long or Yellow Dragon
River, is really dangerous as told by our tour guide, because we’re not suppose
or allowed to sleep while on the journey up the mountain due to the different
levels of air pressure and oxygen level. If we were to sleep, we might increase
the risk of death. Thus all of us were keeping an eye for each other. If we see
any of us were asleep, we would wake them up. Also in between the journey, we
stop at a stopping area since we had to buy ourselves either a small oxygen
tank or bottled Chinese herbs to further aid and prevent us from difficulty of
breathing due to shortage of oxygen intake while on walking journey along the
river up the mountains which is approximately 4 hundred meters above sea level.
After reaching, we queue up for the cable car trip. All of us were divided into
two queues however one of the queue had a slight misunderstanding problems,
which I was typically in.
When
we gave our cards to the person in-charge to help us scan the ticket, she kept
on demanding that we had to show her a student card in order for her to approve
and scan the ticket. But the thing is, our student cards at that time were
given to the tour guide back when we were in the bus. We tried to explain
ourselves but the lady kept on insisting that she would not help us scan the
ticket unless we showed her the proof that we’re students to the extent that
she demanded us to get out from the queue and go back to the back, which I
found out that she was really a rude worker. If it were to happen in Singapore,
I still believe that the customer was not treated like how were being treated
here. However the other row had to problem at all. Thankfully, one of the
student leaders came to the rescue and helps us to get into the cable car
premises and we finally got up to the mountain. It was my first time riding a
cable car but I don’t feel like it was a scary ride for me. To me, it was
enjoyable and a fun experience even though the ride was only about 10 minutes.
We
then had a fun time strolling around the Huang Long River while taking pictures
and enjoying the scenic scenery. But then I only used the oxygen tank, which I
bought for RMB 50, once and gave it to a friend who was in need of it. I felt
completely natural and had no mountain sickness at all throughout the whole
journey. However the only thing I felt was tired and soreness penetrating
through my legs with all the walking from the top of the mountain to the main
meeting place. But in overall, it was a fun experience in total. A true
experience worth remembering. Then we had to go through another 3 to 4 hour bus
journey to Hua Rui Yuan Hotel for a night stay where we had another overnight
gaming session with a big group of us.
