Day Fourteen. Week Three.
Monday
Since we reached the campus late at night, we were given more time to rest and only had lessons during the afternoon slot. Lessons were as per normal but my brain or body just can’t seem to be in the classroom as I was still as tired from yesterday’s trip and I have yet to restore all my energy then. After lunch, we went to eat lunch at the usual halal stall at the business district and did our own leisure time spending at our own rooms. But for me, standard, I was just lying on the bed and had my nap that I was waiting for.

I got woken up from my sleep by the girls as it was time for us to eat dinner. We all then got ready and head out to the halal store again to have our dinner. Since all of us wanted to try something new, we decided to order a tray of curry chicken that costs us about RMB 50. Since we were eating in a group of 4 to 5 it was really very worth it as it was really very delicious! It was the only food from the store which had the Singapore taste which I missed so much. And since I’m a fanatic chicken lover, I finally got to eat a whole chicken that has more meat than the usual skin with fat and bones. Even the curry tasted like my mother’s curry cooking and it made me think and felt like home. Together eating with hot piping rice with that curry chicken side dish, I felt like I was back in Singapore for a second. My heart was really happy and so was my tummy who was craving for Singapore food for a really long time. To me, that dish from that stall is the most recommended dish that is a must try when you come to UESTC campus at Chengdu, China.
